Pratt.tv is the socialMULTImedia home of Jason Pratt. It's where videos go to be watched and tweets wait to be shared.
I am
Jason Pratt and am happy that you are visiting my online portfolio of work. This always makes me smile.
I live
in sunny Jacksonville, Florida where I have been nearly my entire life, but not this long. I love the city. We've got the Atlantic ocean, the largest river in Florida, fun and creative people, delicious BBQ and awesome music.
I create
lots of rad stuff with cameras, a computer and my brain. I shoot, edit and produce documentary-style video, capture journalistic photos and develop websites on the Squarespace platform, including this one. Then I tweet and go for a run.
I listen
to lots of music including Pearl Jam, Kid Cudi, Needtobreathe, Silversun Pickups and The Braveheart Soundtrack.
I eat
a peanut butter and blueberry fruit spread sandwich on 12-grain bread for breakfast daily.
I say
the word "rad" probably too much. I wonder how many times it's written on my rad website?
I enjoy
running races, kayaking, music, being at concerts, the ocean, my two brothers, the sun, my FiveFingers, keeping up with tech news, Frisbee/disc sports, my Sigg water bottle, trying new beers, Red Wings hockey, competing in sports, the Florida springs, my rad friends, grilling, tech gadgets, internet tubes, laughing, camping, peanut butter, the color orange, fun
I went
to school here in Jacksonville until I graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Communications where I studied digital video production, photography, multimedia and web design. School is cool.
I worked
at The Florida Times-Union and Jacksonville.com from June 2004 until September 2010. I was hired as the photo lab tech and later moved up to multimedia production specialist where I produced award-winning multimedia for print and online. I conceptualized, shot and edited journalistic video, shot photos and taught journalists throughout the newsroom audio, video and multimedia techniques and methods. Some of my favorite moments there included covering Super Bowl XXXIX and the 2008 AFC Championship Game, documenting NFL fans in other cities besides Jacksonville, interviewing Conan O'Brien for a video, winning two Challenge Fridays, which of one crowned me the Tater Tot Eating Champ, photographing the wildest waterspout in Jacksonville, meeting such life-inspiring people each day and then having the opportunity to capture them through photos or video and finally... shooting video of acrobatic planes and the Blue Angels just yards away as I was flying in a plane with its side panel completely removed. It was a rush.
I work
at Mayo Clinic as a public affairs consultant for the Center for Social Media, where I use my expertise in communications, social media networks, multimedia and sharing my passion for teaching and helping people.
I will
dye my hair blue if you share Pratt.tv with your friends on twitter, facebook or to the cubicle next to you. Well, maybe :)
